Meet the Team!
Marina was born in Sun Valley, ID. She graduated from Meridian High School and attended one year at Brigham Young University where she met the love of her life, Dick McCarroll. They have 4 children and 10 grandchildren whom they adore. Marina brings with her 19 years of experience in the dental industry. She is so excited to be a part of the team at Boise Prosthodontics!
JoAnna-Patient Coordinator/Dental Assistant
JoAnna was born in Pocatello, ID. She went to Meridian High School and then onto Boise State Dental Assisting Program in 1998 where she met her husband Greg. Together they have 3 beautiful girls, her oldest Aubree (18) plays soccer for Boise State, Ali (14) attends Bishop Kelly High School, and Lexi (12) goes to St. Marks Catholic School. JoAnna brings 20 years of experience to the dental field and loves to help people feel comfortable and relaxed. On the weekends you will find JoAnna on the sideline watching her girls play soccer and basketball.
Krista has lived in the Boise area her entire life and has been practicing dentistry for the past 12 years. She received her dental assistant certification through Boise State University. Krista has been married for over 15 years and has four children. She spends her free time watching and coaching her children in the many sports that they play. When they are not at a soccer/baseball/basketball game, they are camping and hiking!
Jess-Dental Assistant/Front Assistant
Jess was a former patient who wants to help others through their own dental experiences. She graduated from Brigham Young University-Hawaii while running cross-country and playing basketball for the Seasiders. Dentistry has become her passion and she has recently applied for dental school! Jess loves spending time with her family and stays very involved with sports!
Tammie is a dental hygienist and graduated with high honors and magna cum laude from Weber State University in 1994 with a Bachelors degree in Dental hygiene. She was also a finalist for the Weber State Woman of the Year. Following graduation she worked for Dr. Gordon Christensen, a world renown prosthodontics for 17 years. She worked in clinical practice as well as served as the administrator of his Oral Health Institute. She has continued to be actively involved in clinical research with Dr. Christensen’s non profit organization, Clinical Research Foundation and currently serves on their board of directors. In 2001, she became the founding Editor in Chief of their dental hygiene newsletter and served in that capacity until 2004. In addition to her responsibilities with the newsletter, she lectured nationally and internationally to dental and dental hygiene organizations on subjects of “infection control” and “what’s new in dental hygiene” In 2010 she relocated to Boise Idaho where she worked in a general dental practice. In 2015, Dr. Gurney reached out to her and she joined the practice, excited to be back in the specialty of prosthodontics which has always been her passion. She is happily married to her sweetheart Kent Johns and they live in Meridian. Together they have 7 grown children and 7 grandchildren. She enjoys daily workouts including hot yoga and HIIT She is an avid skier and has recently taken up golf which has become her latest obsession. She also loves to join her husband golfing, hunting, and fishing any time she gets the chance.
