There are numerous reasons to consider cosmetic dentistry. Whether you’re having a problem with one specific tooth, or you need a replacement for all of your teeth, there is likely a cosmetic solution to fit your needs. Our amazing team at Boise Prosthodontics believes that dental health directly affects a patient’s physical and mental well-being. That’s why we proudly offer our community in the Treasure Valley a variety of smile-enhancing cosmetic dental procedures.

Types of Cosmetic Dental Procedures

Cosmetic dentistry includes a variety of procedures and techniques, depending on your smile goals. Here are some of the cosmetic dental procedures we provide:

Veneers are thin, custom-made covers that are bonded to the front of the teeth. Veneers can be made from porcelain or a resin composite and can also change the color, shape, and size of the teeth.

Crowns are tooth-shaped caps placed over a damaged tooth to improve the size, strength, or appearance of that tooth. Crowns are typically made of ceramic, zirconia, resin, or porcelains. If a tooth needs a crown, the tooth must first be filed down before the crown is cemented over it to ensure a perfect fit.

Enamel shaping is a fast and painless procedure whereby the teeth are shaped to improve their appearance. This procedure is generally used to correct small imperfections such as uneven teeth or slightly overcrowded teeth. Enamel shaping is also usually combined with other procedures such as teeth whitening or bonding.

Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry that focuses on correcting misaligned teeth. Braces are an orthodontic technique that works by applying steady pressure over time, slowly moving teeth into alignment. Braces are gradually tightened to make sure the teeth are aligned to the best possible position.

Teeth whitening, or teeth bleaching, is another type of cosmetic procedure that can take many different forms. Many people know that there are a variety of over-the-counter solutions available to customers. However, these over-the-counter solutions are not as effective as professional teeth whitening by our team.

Dentures are a type of cosmetic enhancement used to replace missing teeth. Generally, there are two types of dentures: complete and partial. Complete dentures are applied when all of a patient’s teeth are missing, whereas partial dentures are applied when some of the patients’ natural teeth remain.
